Treatments for Acne and Acne Scarring

If you have acne or acne scars, indentations or raised, red spotty or inflamed areas on your skin due to a medical condition such as acne or rosacea, we have a range of treatments to help manage the condition and also reduce the appearance of acne scarring (and other types of skin scarring).

Acne scarring in particular can be very problematic for some clients, requiring a lot of effort with make-up to hide the scarring on the skin which can result from acne spots after they disappear.

Fractora is the leading technology available today to help treat this issue, and as you will see from the images on this page, it helps to significantly reduce the appearance of the scarring.

Fractora is a Skin Resurfacing, Restructuring and Rejuvenating therapy that is the most technologically advanced fractional radio frequency treatment available in the world today. Fractora delivers radio frequency energy to the skin through an array of pins which puncture and pass energy in to the skin, producing localised heat and small micro-lesion dots in the treatment area. The gentle heat generated by the Fractora pins in the deeper layer of the skin (the sub-dermal layer) tissue promotes collagen restructuring for skin rejuvenation. This results in anti-ageing improvements in skin tone and texture for a more radiant appearance. The methodical scattering of micro-punctures in to the skin allows faster healing than if the entire area was treated, thereby reducing down-time after a treatment.

What causes Acne?

Acne can be a long-term skin disease that starts when hair follicles are clogged with dead skin cells and sebum, or oil! It is characterised by whiteheads, blackheads, pimples, oily skin and scarring which can follow bad outbreaks.

It affects areas of the skin with a relatively high number of oil glands such as the face, upper part of the chest, and back. The resulting appearance can lead to extreme anxiety, reduced self esteem and depression.

How can my Acne or Rosacea be controlled?

We have a range of world-class products such as the ZO TM and Environ TM ranges which help both treat and prevent the appearance of inflammatory conditions such as acne and rosacea.

The main mechanism by which these products do this is by limiting excessive oil production and preventing dead skin cells from clogging pores, hence they limit the chances of spots developing.

Can I prevent outbreaks or treat them to get rid of them quickly?

Yes, absolutely. Using the correct skin care regime regularly helps manage skin conditions such as Acne and Rosacea effectively and minimises the chance of outbreaks.

There are also products available that help manage outbreaks. Using these early helps limit outbreaks and helps treat them quickly.

Will my scarring completely disappear with Fractora treatment?

We cannot promise you this, but what we can say is that Fractora is very effective and all of our clients see some improvement in their scarring. Even a modest improvement can make it easier to cover over more visible areas with make-up, as the scarring becomes shallower due to the depth of treatment of Fractora.

Will it help if I am a man with scarring?

Absolutely. Although men may be less likely to use make-up to cover over scarring, an improved appearance has been very well received among a number of our male clients.

You will see from some of the Before and After images on this page that men do respond well to Fracture and the scarring is much reduced following treatment.

The more treatments you have done as part of a course, the better the results.

Is Fractora painful?

Fractora is generally quite easy to tolerate as the skin is treated with anaesthetic prior to the treatment.

How long does the treatment take?

As an example, pre-treatment (to increase anaesthetic effect) and double application of the anaesthetic and allowing it time to work takes approximately 50-55 minutes, for treatment of a client’s face. The treatment itself takes around 30-35 minutes if treating just the face.

So a face treatment would take around 1 hour and 20-30 minutes in total.

How many treatments will I need?

Depending on your Fractora treatment regime you can expect to have around 4 sessions. Most individuals require 4 treatments when using a moderate energy setting per treatment session.

How quickly will I see results?

Visible results can be seen immediately, but typically approximately two weeks after a treatment, the most noticeable results appear. Improvements continue up to three months after treatment.

What does Fractora treatment cost?

A single treatment of Fractora costs £435. When a course of Fractora treatments is recommended, an example of a package price would be:

As an example, 4 treatments: 4 x £435 = £1740. This is reduced as a package price to £1645.
